ProfiDrum needs little introduction as the original, and unquestionably one of the leading, manufacturers of rotary drum filters (RDFs) for Koi ponds (and a whole host of other installations such as the enormous manatee exhibit at Burgers Zoo in Holland).
Koi Kichi Fish Farm needs little introduction to Koi hobbyists in Thailand, and indeed to anyone involved in the high end Koi market in Japan, having forged an impressive track record of prizes at the major shows in Japan and across Thailand.
Thai Koi hobbyists will soon be able to see ProfiDrum filters in operation on the new ponds being built at Koi Kichi Fish Farm’s Bangkok facility.
Koi Kichi Fish Farm is the official distributor for the ProfiDrum range in Thailand and Joe described some of the benefits as:
- reduces the size of the filtration area meaning that the pond itself can be made larger
- reduces the burden on the owner of cleaning the filtration system
- it removes 70-80% of the waste before it breaks down into ammonia
- the filter can be moved should the owner move home, or rebuild a pond, unlike the traditional concrete chambers used presently in Thailand.
It’s anticipated that the filters will be operational by the middle of July.
