Three of the biggest Koi dealers in the world have joined forces to form the ‘Nishikigoi Alliance’.
The 3 in question are Kiki Sutarki at Samurai Koi Centre (Indonesia), Joe at Koi Kichi Fish Farm (Thailand) and Max at Max’s Koi Farm (Singapore).
Nishikigoi Alliance stated, ‘We share the same believe that keeping Koi should bring more fun and friends. So, we created the Nishikigoi Alliance where Koi lovers around the world could get together and share the enjoyment of keeping Koi.’
Nishikigoi Alliance have also launched their first combined event, ‘The Big 3 Tategoi 2018’, featuring 148 tategoi tosai from Dainichi Koi Farm, Sakai Fish Farm and Momotaro Koi Farm.
All Koi are presently in mud ponds in Japan and can be reserved from photographs between now and the end of August. When harvested in November judging will take place to award:
- Best growth rate
- Best Shiroji
- Best Sumi
- Best Beni
the winner of each category will get 150,000 Japanese Yen.

At the 2019 All Japan Koi Show final judgement will be made and the owner of the Grand Champion will get 600,000 Yen in prize money, the runner up 300,000 Yen.
