As people probably already know, I’m a big fan of Isa Koi Farm Showa, without question Isa is one of the very premier Showa breeders.
Whilst having dinner with Tony Pitham, MD of Koi Water Barn, back in October in Japan, he showed me some Isa nisai Showa that he had purchased via Narita Koi Farm. Apparently the Koi had been sold as tosai by Isa earlier in the year however never shipped, and as such Narita had acquired them as concrete pond grown nisai in September.
A week or so ago Keith Holmes at ‘The Barn’ informed me that those Showa were due to arrive late on Wednesday evening if I fancied popping over to see them early Thursday.
Check out the video below which includes the 28 nisai Isa Showa that were imported and a little discussion about them.
