As you have probably seen in a previous post, on Saturday and Sunday Purdin Koi Farm held their Harvest Weekend event – http://nishikigoi.life/2017/11/06/purdin-koi-farm-harvest-weekend/. The event included the harvest of a pond of around 220 tosai which were offered for sale to visitors.
As Saturday afternoon drew to a close around 1/3 of the unsold Koi were quickly selected and set aside as possible tategoi to be grown on further at the farm over the winter.
At this time in the season all tategoi, starting with tosai, are photographed and measured for the farm’s records, and on Tuesday, this task got underway with the small selection of Koi from Saturday’s harvest.
