The awful weather I woke up to on 22nd October did nothing to dampen the excitement of the harvest ahead. In 2007 Isa Koi Farm’s jumbo harvest was one of the first jumbo harvests I attended. On that day I encountered the Koi which would go on to be the 2010 Niigata Nogyosai Grand Champion for the first time.

I repeatedly talk about Showa being about sumi, and the sumi falling on the white. In the above images, and moreso in the video below, you can see the amazing quality and style of sumi that Isa Showa exhibit.
