The 16th October promised one of the highlights of my annual harvest calendar, Yagenji Koi Farm’s number 1 harvest, and it didn’t disappoint!

It was a positively chilly morning as several of us rendezvoused at Yagenji’s upper Koi house where the brothers were getting everything ready.

The pond is just a short drive across the mountain to the valley that sits behind Mushigame village.

The images below all come from the video diary of the harvest which you can see on our YouTube channel here – https://youtu.be/0eYnzLqyO5U –  or at the bottom of this post.

The above video also includes footage and dialogue about my ‘Humble Azukari Hopes’ which I detailed here – http://nishikigoi.life/2017/09/30/humble-azukari-hopes-harvest-october-2017/.

Following the Yagenji Harvest I headed to Koda Koi Farm to see the last of my azukari Koi which had been harvested.

Incredibly pleased with how it’s developed, and grown to 53cm from around 35cm in November last year.
