Travel and Koi are 2 words that rather sum up my next 10 or 11 weeks, not that I am complaining I should point out!

As soon as I finish writing this post I will be walking out the door and driving the short journey to Stansted Airport to fly to Nuremburg, Germany and a visit to Thomas Pohl’s business Koi Aqua – http://www.koiaqua.de/ – for a couple of days.  Thomas tells me the facility has 44 ponds from 5 tons to 100 tons and more than 2000 high quality Koi of 50cm and over.  In addition to the Koi business there is a huge tropical marine business – http://www.korallen-zucht.de/ – which according to the website has 8000 corals in stock!

I first recall hearing Thomas’ name back at the 2010 Wakagoi Show when this Koi below was awarded the ‘Most Unique Koi’ prize.

Thereafter I’ve known many extremely high quality Koi connected with being owned by Thomas, and indeed, since 2014 KoiAqua.de has been an advertiser here on Nishikigoi.Life.

Following Germany my travel will take me to the USA, Poland, Japan and back to the USA – and Koi harvests from breeders on 3 different continents.
