Northwest Koi and Goldfish Club mounted it’s 36th Annual Koi show last July 30-31 at Beaverton Oregon USA.
This would be the 2nd longest running Koi show in the US, now held on it’s fourth year at the Uwajimaya Asian Food Market complex in conjunction with the Natsu Matsuri Oregon Summer Festival. This new venue was accidentally discovered by Show Chairman Daren Beck and myself due to a Sake (Japanese rice wine) run years ago.
Now the most concluded Koi show was attended by approximately 8,000 guests coming from the most serious Koi collector level to just plain spectator admiring those living jewels in the show vats.
Larry Christensen, Linda Montgomery and Virginia Hokkanen headed the benching and auction team while Jody Beck was in charge of the trophies and banquet.
This year’s judges were Michael Frady, Jan Thompson and Gary Chin.
