Around 2 months ago we reported that Yoshikigoi had received clearance from CEFAS in the UK to export Koi from Poland into the country – http://nishikigoi.life/2016/06/07/yoshikigoi-get-uk-import-clearance/.
Today the very first shipment has started the journey from the farm in Poland, driven around 16hours by road by Merv Westgate to Calais, before crossing the English Channel where they will pass into the hands of Ashley Dart of Yoshikigoi Management UK.
Jos Aben dedicated the day to Jack Ward, the man who originally started the ball rolling to get Yoshkigoi into the UK, but sadly died before seeing it come to fruition, ‘We are very proud that this day is finally here. Only wish that my friend Jack was still there to see this happen. Thank you to everyone that put so much trust in Yoshikigoi and to all that make this happen. For me personally this date will be the Jack Ward day.’
