I well recall the first time I met Jos Aben and his daughter Sandra, 18th March 2009, Jos was selecting tosai at Yagenji Koi Farm.
Over the next few days I spent time with Jos as he visited various farms selecting Koi for his business in Holland.
Since that first meeting in 2009 I’ve met Jos and Sandra several times on buying trips in Japan, I’ve poured over the pages over Jos’ book willing it to be in English (it will be very soon) and I’ve had an open invitation to visit Jos at Yoshikigoi in Poland.
In a week when Yoshikigoi have announced they have clearance to ship to the USA – http://nishikigoi.life/2016/06/04/yoshikigoi-heading-usa/ – and the UK – http://nishikigoi.life/2016/06/07/yoshikigoi-get-uk-import-clearance/ – finally I have been able to arrange my first visit to the farm as well. I should point out that we’ve been trying to arrange this since March this year, and trying to find a week when everyone was available to be in Poland on the farm in June has been a challenge.
Anyway, on Monday 20th June I shall make the short journey from London Stansted to Poznan in Poland to rendezvous with Jos, before driving to Yoshikigoi Farm for a couple of nights. Whilst the visit is short, all being well it will be the start of several visits over the coming year to the farm.
