Received this blurry pic from Bill and Maureen at Purdin Koi Farm and a message telling me that my favourite, like huge favourite, male Showa at the farm had been put into action overnight for the first time.
You may recall that I wrote about this male, originally bred by Isa Koi Farm here in Niigata, in this post – http://nishikigoi.life/2016/03/18/showa-match-made-heaven/ – here is the Koi below.
I can see that the female is this one below, a product of Purdin Koi Farm’s own spawning, and I believe if memory serves me right, now a 4 year old.
Is this going to be a Showa match made in heaven? I hope so, and I really hope ‘my boy’ does a good job.
Being a natural spawning there is another male in the mix as well, I don’t have a picture of that particular Koi as far as I’m aware.
I’m almost tempted to hop on a plane straight to the USA for a bit of Kuroko selection….
