The 2015 Niigata Nogyosai saw a continued post-2004 earthquake increase in entry numbers, rising from 927 last year to 984 this year.
The table below shows the data for each variety and size class, as well as the total number of prizes awarded in each class.
As you can see quite a lot of classes, in fact 31 of 165, had 1 or less entries, whilst others had a considerable number.
The number of Koi in 80bu and 80bu+ size classes dropped this year from 82 to 76, the number of Gosanke in those sizes also dropped by 6, from 55 to 49, still an impressive display of large Gosanke nonetheless.
The number of Gosanke entered increased from 410 to 458, accounting for almost the entire entry increase, 38 of that increase being Kohaku.
