Japan Koi Export (www.japankoiexport.com) have announced they are staging a UK Koi Masterclass on those dates.

The event will take place in the beautiful grounds of Homersfield Lake, Suffolk.

Senichi Mano of Izumiya Koi Farm – talking about the development of his famous Yamabuki Ogon

Yasuaki Kaneko of Kaneko Koi Farm – talking about their world-renowned Shiro Utsuri and Kujaku

Katsunori Miya of Miyatora Koi Farm – talking about the variety of Koi he breeds including Go Sanke and Kin Ki Utsuri

Toshiaki Sakai of Yamamatsu Koi Farm – talking about their world-renowned Go Sanke and how they breed and what they look for in achieving world quality Koi

Guest speakers include:

Peter Waddington – “Waddy” author of “Koi kichi” needs no introduction and has been at the forefront of the koi world since the 1970s. Informative, humorous and controversial, his lectures will cover his vast experiences of buying koi in Japan and his concept of his “ERIC” filters.

Mark Davis – Cuttlebrook Koi Farm. Mark is one of the leading Koi breeders here in the UK. He will be talking about the differences between UK and Japanese Koi breeding and bringing some of his top koi to show as well.

Bernice Brewster  – Aquatic Consultancy.  Bernice first started in the koi business at Kent Koi Company back in the 1980s. Since then she has been at the forefront of advising on fish health. She will be talking about all aspects on koi health.

Martin Symonds – Japan Koi Export and host of the conference. Martin has been visiting and buying koi from Japan since 1981. Over the last 34 years he has shipped tens of thousands of boxes of koi around the world and brought 100’s of people to Japan over the years to buy koi. He will be talking about visiting Japan and the best way on how to buy koi in Japan.

There will be a Koi auction each day with a small number of high quality koi from the visiting breeders and other well-known breeders in Niigata. These koi will be published early next spring.
